How this list was made

Scale was the deciding factor in India, so we looked at which providers could run consistent programmes across several metros and mixed audiences. Coverage for both business and engineering teams, vendor-certified options and a working grasp of India's 2023 data protection statute shaped our ranking.

Checklist: picking a Generative AI trainer in India

Training at Indian scale under the IndiaAI Mission

Public money for AI in India flows through the IndiaAI Mission, cleared by the Union Cabinet in 2024 with a five-year budget of Rs 10,372 crore. Skills are one of the mission's pillars, from school and degree programmes to the working population. Companies, meanwhile, have no shortage of trainers to call on. The harder question for an Indian L&D team is which partner can hold quality steady when a programme reaches tens of offices and very different job roles.

Specialisms are easy to find. Large rollouts and role-based paths come from upGrad Enterprise and Great Learning, vendor certifications from Koenig Solutions, and technical depth for data teams from Analytics Vidhya and ADaSci. Prodillence and Technovids concentrate on managers and business staff, and Digital Scholar on marketers. Since the DPDP Act of 2023, procurement teams also ask how a trainer will keep customer and employee data out of prompts during practice.

FAQ

Questions

Start with a central programme for managers and trainers, then cascade to branches through live online sessions in small groups. Use simple tasks such as drafting customer letters and summarising circulars. Keep strict rules on customer data and follow RBI and internal guidance. Regional language support helps frontline staff learn faster.
Not usually. Engineers need deeper skills such as building with APIs, retrieval and agents, while business staff need practical productivity skills. A shared introduction can build common language, but separate tracks work better after that. Ask providers whether they can deliver both and keep the content aligned.
Yes. Leadership sessions can cover AI strategy, use case selection and governance, using case discussions similar to management school formats. Hitesh has trained at 9 IIMs and often runs leadership modules alongside hands-on workshops for teams. This helps leaders sponsor adoption and set realistic expectations.
Common measures include time saved on specific tasks, adoption rates of approved tools, quality of AI-assisted output and employee confidence surveys. Set a baseline before training and check again after one or two months. Ask the provider to help design the measures so they fit your workflows.
Include learner numbers by city and role, tools in use, languages needed, preferred format and any compliance rules under the DPDP Act. Describe the outcomes you expect. Scale and tailoring swing the price a great deal, so a written response from each firm to one shared brief is the fairest comparison.
