Training for Vietnam's new AI law era
December 2025 brought Vietnam its first standalone AI statute, approved by an overwhelming majority of National Assembly deputies and in force since 1 March 2026. The framework sorts AI by risk and addresses data, how AI is used and who answers for the results. For employers, that changes the conversation about GenAI training: knowing how to write prompts is no longer enough, because staff also need to understand when AI use calls for review, disclosure or a written record.
Personal data rules add a second layer, since Decree 13/2023 on personal data protection already set obligations for organisations processing personal information. On the supply side, Vietnam offers enterprise-scale providers such as FPT Digital, university courses at VNU-HCM's University of Science, and specialist trainers like Saigon A.I. for leadership teams.
