Overview

What Claude Code is and what our training covers

Claude Code is Anthropic’s agentic coding tool. Instead of suggesting one line at a time, it works across a whole repository: it reads the code, proposes a plan, edits files, runs commands and tests, and handles git. Developers use it in the terminal, in VS Code and JetBrains, in the Claude desktop app and on the web, and teams can run it headless in CI pipelines such as GitHub Actions. It is available on paid Claude plans and through the API.

Our Claude Code training teaches engineering teams to use it well and safely: CLAUDE.md project memory, plan mode, subagents, hooks, Skills, plugins, slash commands, MCP servers, permission modes and the Claude Agent SDK. Every programme includes a review discipline for AI-written code, secrets handling and the admin controls leaders need. We tailor each city programme to its local industries, regulators, delivery patterns and working week.

Highlights

What every Claude Code programme includes

Project memory

Writing CLAUDE.md files that teach the agent your build steps, conventions and areas it must never touch.

Plan mode discipline

Reviewing and agreeing the agent’s plan before edits begin, so larger changes stay predictable and easy to review.

Subagents and Skills

Delegating focused jobs to subagents and packaging repeatable team workflows as Skills and slash commands.

Hooks and permissions

Using hooks and permission modes to block secrets, dangerous commands and edits outside approved folders.

MCP and plugins

Connecting Claude Code to issue trackers, documentation and internal services through MCP servers and plugins.

CI and the Agent SDK

Running Claude Code headless in pipelines and building simple internal agents with the Claude Agent SDK.

In your workflow

How a typical engagement runs

An engineering head shares the team’s stack, repositories in scope and any restrictions on sharing code. We design exercises around a real backlog item or a matching sandbox. Developers spend most of the day hands-on, from plan mode to pull request, then leave with a shared CLAUDE.md, review checklist and agreed slash commands.

Use it for

What engineering teams use Claude Code for

Test coverage

Writing unit, integration and characterisation tests for under-tested code so teams can refactor with confidence and fewer regressions.

Migrations and refactors

Upgrading frameworks, moving Java or .NET services forward and splitting monoliths in small, reviewable steps with Opus 5.5.

Codebase onboarding

Helping new joiners understand unfamiliar systems by asking Claude Code to explain modules, data flows and design decisions.

Bug fixing

Reproducing defects, tracing root causes across services and proposing fixes with tests that a developer reviews before merging.

Documentation

Generating and updating READMEs, API references and architecture notes directly from the code so documentation stays current.

Pull request review

Running headless first-pass reviews in CI that flag security issues, missing tests and style problems before human review.

FAQ

Claude Code Training for Engineering Teams — questions

It suits developers, tech leads, QA and DevOps engineers, and engineering managers. Developers spend most of the time hands-on in a repository. Leads and managers get additional material on governance, model choice, cost tracking and how to roll Claude Code out across teams without losing code quality.
Yes, each participant needs access to Claude Code through a paid Claude plan, Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise, or through API access set up by your organisation. For company programmes we usually recommend Team or Enterprise for central admin controls. We help you check access before the session.
Yes. Many teams work under client contracts or internal policies that restrict sharing code. We then use a sandbox repository that mirrors your languages and frameworks, and participants apply the same steps to their own code afterwards, within their own environment.
We teach Sonnet 5.5 as the everyday default because it balances quality and cost. We show when Opus 5.5 is worth using for large refactors and migrations, and when Fable 5.1 makes sense for the hardest problems. Participants learn to switch models deliberately rather than by habit.
The core skills are the same, but each city programme is adapted to local work. Bengaluru product teams, Mumbai banks, Riyadh government platforms and Doha energy teams face different regulations and delivery patterns, so examples, controls and exercises change accordingly.
