Financial services dominate Hong Kong demand, so we favoured providers that treat security, audit and supervisory expectations seriously, and noted options that work with the Continuing Education Fund. Delivery in English and Cantonese, plus awareness of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, also counted.

Checklist: picking a Agentic AI trainer in Hong Kong

Safety-first, application-led: agent skills in Hong Kong

Hong Kong's 2025 Policy Address describes an approach to AI that is steered by safety and driven by application, and lists AI assistants and chatbots being rolled out across government services, including the iAM Smart platform. In finance, the HKMA has run an AI sandbox with banks to test use cases under supervision. Together these signal that agents are welcome, provided organisations can explain how they are controlled and who answers for their output.

Dedicated agent-building courses in the city are still relatively few, so many teams combine a local workshop with global online programmes. Local options include hands-on prototype sessions using Copilot Studio and n8n, broad instructor-led catalogues and university courses aimed at finance professionals. The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data has published a Model Personal Data Protection Framework for AI, and training that references it helps teams align agent design with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.

FAQ

Questions

Some can. The Continuing Education Fund only covers registered courses, and certain university programmes, including some from HKU SPACE, appear on its list. Corporate in-house workshops generally fall outside the scheme. Check the course code on the CEF website and confirm eligibility directly with the provider before enrolling, as reimbursable courses and conditions are updated from time to time.
The HKMA has encouraged responsible adoption, including through an AI sandbox where banks test use cases under supervision. Banks are expected to manage risks such as accuracy, fairness and data protection. For agents, that means clear human accountability, testing and records of what the system did. Training should reflect these themes, though it does not replace your compliance function’s guidance.
Yes. The Privacy Commissioner’s Model Personal Data Protection Framework for AI gives practical guidance on governance, risk assessment and human oversight. Agents that read customer records or send messages raise exactly the issues it describes. A good programme uses the framework as a reference when designing exercises, so participants learn habits that will satisfy internal privacy reviews.
Some local trainers deliver in Cantonese, while many corporate programmes run in English with Cantonese discussion. Since agent tools and documentation are mostly English, technical content often stays in English. For front-line teams, ask for Cantonese facilitation and bilingual handouts so the practical steps are clear to everyone, including staff who will supervise agents day to day.
Pricing depends on the number of participants, duration, technical depth, language and whether exercises use your own systems. We do not publish figures. Give each provider the same brief, ask for a proposal and compare what you get, such as a working prototype, follow-up support and materials staff can reuse.
