How this list was made

We gave weight to providers teaching the tools Japanese companies favour, notably Dify and Copilot Studio, as well as developer depth on LangChain, and to Japanese-language delivery. Eligibility for government training subsidies, and attention to the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI), also shaped the ranking.

Checklist: picking a Agentic AI trainer in Japan

Japan's AI Promotion Act and the rise of in-house agent building

Japan's Diet passed the AI Promotion Act on 28 May 2025, and most provisions took effect on 4 June 2025, creating a Cabinet AI Strategy Headquarters chaired by the Prime Minister. Developing a skilled AI workforce is one of the Act's basic measures, supporting the government's ambition for Japan to become the most AI-friendly country. Rather than imposing heavy rules, the Act leans on promotion, which leaves companies room to experiment with agents in daily operations.

Corporate agent training in Japan commonly uses no-code tools such as Dify and Copilot Studio for business staff, with LangChain development courses for engineers. Large training firms run tool-specific agent courses, consultancies run multi-month agent dojos, and online academies help firms use government training subsidies. The Act on the Protection of Personal Information still governs customer data, so agent projects need clear purposes, careful handling of third-party transfers and staff who understand where data goes when an agent calls an external model.

FAQ

Questions

Some programmes can be supported by the Human Resources Development Support Subsidy administered by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and certain online academies on this list specialise in subsidy-eligible courses. Rules, eligible costs and application steps change, so confirm eligibility with the provider and your local labour bureau before training starts.
The Act is mainly promotional. It creates a Cabinet AI Strategy Headquarters and sets basic measures, including AI workforce development, rather than detailed obligations for each system. Existing laws, especially APPI, still apply to the data agents handle. Training should therefore focus on sound governance habits that hold up even if guidance becomes more specific later.
Dify is popular with Japanese teams that want an open, flexible platform for retrieval-based agents, while Copilot Studio fits organisations already standardised on Microsoft 365 and Teams. Developer teams may go further with LangChain or direct use of Claude. A strong course compares options against your data, security policy and the skills of the people who will maintain the agents.
Yes. While most local providers teach in Japanese, international trainers and some global platforms deliver in English, which suits trading houses, foreign-affiliated firms and mixed teams. A bilingual approach also works, with English technical content and Japanese discussion. Make sure the exercises use your real documents, since that is where language questions surface.
Fees depend on duration, participant numbers, language, on-site or remote delivery and how much tailoring is needed, and subsidies may offset part of the cost for eligible companies. We do not list prices. Request a quotation from each shortlisted provider against the same scope, and ask how subsidy paperwork is supported if you plan to apply.
